My Flying Car

I recently picked up an iPhone. I had resisted it thinking that I didn’t all of functionality and I would be wasting a ton of money.

But I finally broke down and got one. I subsequently learned two things. It’s not much more expensive than I was paying before. I use and, in some cases, need most of it’s functionality.

Who knew?

And, yeah, you can waste all your time with it. But why not compose a post on the train ride home? You got something better to do?

I remember reading an argument that the reason mobiles were so much more advanced in Japan was that people spent more time on public transit. This left them with more spare time were they could do literaly nothing but sit and wait. I thought it rather simplistic at the time but now I think there’s a kernal of truth to it.

And I can see how traveling business people would come to rely on their devices.

But me? I’m going to mostly use it to post pictures of my new daughter. It’s every bit as important as your company email.
