WordPress for iPhone and error 9
I ran into some installation trouble with the iPhone WordPress app. When trying to add another blog I would get an XMLRPC error 9. Turns out, after much googling and eventually reading the support page at iphone.wordpress.org<\a>, that if there’s any character that’s not utf-8, attempting to add a blog will fail.
You can use the w3’s validator <\a> to see if your blog has any errant characters.
In my case I think the problematic characters were from when I wanted to use proper open and close quotation marks instead of the standard straight verticle ones. Too bad. The proper typographic ones are so much more elegant.
